Updated: 2011-09-30 18:54:32
I received this email from Reverend Daniel Meeter of Old First Dutch Reformed Church in Park Slope detailing what happened when parts of the church’s ceiling crashed down just minutes before the start of a Rosh Hashanah service for a local congregation that was being held at the church. “The people of Congregation Beth Elohim [...]

The level of Lake Huron varies greatly over the course of the year, so, to give their clients the best possible vantage point year-round, MOS Architects constructed this cedar-sided floating house. Now moored in a rocky inlet on the Ontario, Canada side of the lake, the house was towed to this spot from a contractor's workshop on a more accessible part of the lake, limiting shipping costs. To most real estate observers, an 11,000-square-foot brick mansion in the West Village for $449K sounds too good to be true, unless that West Village happens to be in Detroit.
